First of all, I would like to congratulate all of you who helped us raise over $226,000 in 2014 to fight cancer!! Our 2015 Relay will be held at the Venice Municipal Airport grounds on April 24-25, 2015.
On August 12th we held the Committee Rally to begin the planning process for the 2015 Relay. We were able to unveil the new event model. CLICK HERE for a copy. As we are a larger Relay we have some room to adjust positions to work best for our needs. The idea of the model is to make it less of strain on committee members by sharing responsibilities. That being said, we are still looking more committee members. Particularly team ambassadors. If you are interested in becoming a part of the committee please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
As part of the new model, the 2015 Venice Relay will be 12 hours long. The plan in place is to go from 7pm-7am with registration at 5:30pm and the Survivors dinner at 6pm.
2015 Venice Relay For Life event theme is......."It Takes A Village"!!!
This will have campsites setting up as different village/town buildings, etc. Time to put those creative thinking caps on everyone!! :)
The team kick-off party will be in November. We will get an email out to everyone once we have a confirmed date and location. Individual team themes will be picked at kick-off.
Bark For Life:
Bark For Life is coming up on October 25th at Grand Palm on Observation Boulevard off Center Rd in Venice. CLICK HERE for a flyer. We are in need of committee volunteers for this event so if you would like to help let Linda Sauer (email@example.com) as she is the event lead for Bark for Life. Teams can set up a table and sell items. All proceeds go to your team.
Sun Fiesta Parade:
Relay for Life will have a float in the Sun Fiesta Parade on October 18, 2014 in downtown Venice. We line up at 9 a.m. and the parade begins at 10. If you would like to wear your purple and help us get the word out about Relay, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org
As many of you may know Traci is out on maternity leave, so if you need anything or have any questions do not hesitate to ask. We will have ACS support while she is out. And as always watch your emails for the most up to date information on registration, fundraising opportunities and much more.
