Make some noise and join us in 2014!
Our 20th Relay For Life event was a success because of everyone involved! Thank you to the Team Captains, Team members, Committee, Sponsors and Vendors for participating at this year’s event. Thank you just doesn’t seem like enough for what everyone has done since last September from telling your story for why you Relay, Fundraising, attending meetings, to event setup, playing all day at the event, and cleanup. You are an inspiration!
Before the event began Saturday our fundraising total was approximately $31,000. Saturday we raised $15,000 towards our $65,000 goal for 2014! Don’t forget we have through August to continue the Fight in Finding a Cure. Please let me, Emily Ellis and/or Shauna Sprouse know about your fundraisers this summer so we can get the information out to as many as possible.
As stated in the Closing Ceremony remarks by Tracie Saturday night, we will meet in September to review 2014 and begin our 2015 planning. At this meeting, we will give out Awards for 2014; Top Fundraisers, Best Decorated Campsite, Best Dressed, and Most Spirited Team! All will be invited in September not just Team Captains and Committee. Think about how you would like to be involved next year. If you or someone on your team has interest in working on the Committee, there are many rewarding options.
Look for updates through email, website (www.relayforlife.org/goochlandva), Face Book (Relay For Life of Goochland), and even Twitter (@RFLGoochland).
Thank you for supporting Goochland Relay For Life and ACS, telling your story, and helping others to celebrate more birthdays
In the fight against cancer, silence is the last thing we need. Your local American Cancer Society Relay For Life event is a great place to take action and make noise. The Relay For Life movement features community and campus events that offer an inspiring opportunity to honor cancer survivors, promote how individuals can reduce their cancer risk, and raise money to help end cancer. Today, with the support of thousands of volunteers, the American Cancer Society is helping save more than 400 lives a day. And we won't stop until we finish the fight against cancer!
