Relay Madness is underway!

What is Relay Madness?  A six-week fundraising challenge -- where you are matched up against another Relay For Life team.  The team that raises the most money that week continues on to the next round!  Any online fundraising between now and the Relay will count toward your weekly challenge (in the week it was received) and there are several weeks where offline donations (cash and checks) are counted -- as long as they are turned in THAT week!  Don't worry, we have Bank Nights scheduled during those weeks to help you out.

Want more details or to see who your team is matched up against this week?  Head over to our Relay Madness page!

Don't forget -- ALL funds turned in this week count toward your total...both online donations and offline donations (cash and checks) as long as  they are turned in THIS WEEK!

Questions? Just ask!

If you were at our Relay Team Rally on Thursday, you learned that the number one way that Relayers raise money for the American Cancer Society is through letter writing!  Do you write fundraising letters to ask your family, friends and loved ones to support you?  Want some tips and ideas on how to write a successful letter?  Look no further!

Pat Flynn was there at the beginning.  The very first event in 1985, of what would become the Relay For Life.  She was there when Gordy took his first steps around the track, and she helped transform this event from one person on the track to an international movement that spans 20 countries and counts more than 3,000,000 Relayers in 2013.  She is affectionately known as the "Mutha of Relay" and she has been gracious in sharing her tips with Relayers.

Want to know a bit more about Pat Flynn?  Hear her share her story in this video from the 2008 Relay For Life Nationwide Summit.

A new feature for 2013:  New sponsorships can be credited to your team!

You read that correctly!  If you or your team recruits a new sponsor to the Relay For Life of Thurston County, the funds received through the sponsorship will be CREDITED TOWARD YOUR FUNDRAISING TOTAL!  It's a great way for local businesses to get involved in the fight against cancer AND have some recognition for their business! Download the 2013 Sponsorship Packet for more details!
