NOTE: New Section "Relay Day-of Event" added right before "Grand Club" section

NOTE: May 8 is the last Day to raise $100 for a t-shirt

Online Contests

Our April Contest winner is Rhonda W! Thank you Rhonda for sending the most emails to friends and family via the website and utilizing one of the best FREE tools we have to raise money and celebrate more birthdays!

May's contest revolves around Twitter. Once each day leading up to the May 22nd Relay meeting, @rflmillcreek will be tweeting a trivia question. The person who replies to the most questions with a guess will be the winner announced on May 22nd at the May Relay meeting. Help us spread the word about Relay and follow us on Twiiter.

May Flowers

Now is the time to get things finalized: fill out your Relay team, seek those last minute donations, get a Luminaria bag, invite a cancer survivor to the event, and plan your campsite.

Recruitment for Relay teams is still ongoing. Grab those last minute participants to fill out your team and make the biggest impact you can.

May is the busiest month for Relay donations. Get your donations submitted early and ease some of the pressure on your friendly neighborhood Online Chair-man.

Luminaria bags are now for sale. You can decorate your own luminaria bag, just fill out an order form at a meeting or online. Luminaria bags are $5 a piece. The money donated to luminaria will also count towards your team fundraising goal. If you would like to buy or fundraise with luminaria bags, please contact Cara or Christie at   rflmillcreekluminaria@gmail.com

Survivors of cancer are a very big deal! Many of us know someone who has battled and triumphed over cancer. The Survivor lap and Survivor festivities are the way we recognize and celebrate these warriors. Please show a Survivor that you care and invite them to Relay. More details to come, but you can start now by beginning the conversation.

Campsite sign up will be during the May 22nd meeting. Do you prefer track-front property? Or is a tent looking out over the green fields more your cup of tea? First come, first served for the most prime real estate RFL Mill Creek has to offer. The California Raisins are singing and we hear through the grapevine that one team might have s'mores for sale during the event. And we all know that being close to the s'mores is better than being far away!

Relay Day-of Event

Road to Recovery Lap. Each team will build a soap box racer out of cardboard, but the focus is on creativity and fun, not speed. 2 people will  walk the lap Flinstones style showing off their racer. This lap serves to promote the special service that volunteer drivers provide by bringing cancer fighters to and from hospital visits.

Themed laps one per hour happening during Relay with prizes going to each themes winner. Dress up and show off your cowboy/spaceman/80's/pirate/cool-cat/ninja/funky-hat/etc garb, complete list and details to come!

Relay Day-of Event Fundraisers

Lap Counter: $3 to purchase a counter string. Everytime you walk a lap, you add a bead to the string. The person with the most beads (walks the most laps) will win a prize!

Relay sweatshirts and light up pins: Fred Meyer team will be selling items to keep you warm and alight while you walk the track.

Did You Know?

The first Sunday in June each year is National Cancer Survivors Day, a day to celebrate the nearly 14 million cancer surivors who will celebrate another birthday in 2013, another year that they have prevailed over cancer. The American Cancer Society fights for every birthday threatened by cancer in every community. Learn how you can join our fight at cancer.org/volunteer

Grand Club

Here we celebrate those individual participants of RFL Mill Creek that go above and beyond in the quest to wipe out cancer. Surpassing $1000 in donations towards this end makes a huge impact and also makes you a part of an elite group of fundraisers, The Grand Club.
