Why I Relay………….

I Relay for my son Joel , my mom and dad.  I also Relay for the families who are fighting cancer and the families who will, for our brothers, our sisters, our mothers, our fathers, our aunts and uncles, our friends and our neighbors. Hearing you have Cancer it not easy.  This is my way to Fight Back! Volunteering is a great feeling.  It’s also a selfless act to show our children to become understanding and better individuals. I have been a part of Relay For Life of Santa Ana for 8 years and will continue to be part for years to come. It’s the best way to spend 24 hours with family and friends having a good time, in the middle of the city and raising money at the same time.

Why I Relay!

 I relay because I have Hope that one day there will be a cure for Cancer. Being involved with Relay makes me very happy knowing that we are letting our community know what the American Cancer Society can do to help when someone gets diagnosed with cancer. In the past 8 years that I have been involved I have met many brave people that have won the battle and the most supportive caretakers, they are all an inspiration.  I will continue to Honor people who have lost the fight and support those who continue the battle and Thank all the caretakers because of their endless support and contribution to the cause.

"I relay for HOPE! I hope to one day be able to say "Cancer will not take another life." I personally have not suffered from cancer, but it has definitely touched my life. My grandpa, 3 uncles, and recently an aunt have all lost their fight to cancer. I got to spend the last seven days of my grandpa's life with him and it was the worst week of my life. I wanted to take his pain away, but I couldn't! After his death I was left with anger and guilt in my heart from not being able to do anything for him. Relay For Life has given me a way to fight back and honor my grandpa and the rest of my loved ones. I wasn't able to save my grandpa, but I have the opportunity to help continue fighting with those who are still hoping for a cure. We are all in this fight together and we all have hope that one day we will be able to celebrate more birthdays, cancer free. I relay for Hope, for Courage, for Love, and for anyone who is fighting or has lost their life to cancer."
