The journey to end cancer starts with a single step. The American Cancer Society invites you to take that step with us by joining the global Relay For Life movement. When you walk to end cancer at a Relay event, it's your opportunity to not only honor cancer survivors and remember loved ones lost, but also to raise awareness about what we can do to stay well from cancer and raise money to help fuel the world's largest walk to end cancer.

Iowa State vs Iowa Greek Relay For Life Challenge- This year a challenge has been issued between Iowa State and University of Iowa's Greek systems. The college with the most Greek participants at Relay For Life will win a personalized trophy and have their fight song played at the other's Relay For Life event. So grab your friends to make a team to join the fight against cancer and BEAT IOWA... again!!
The American Cancer Society has donated $7.1 MILLION to Iowa's cancer research! $6.6 million has come from RELAY events across the state!
Not sure how to raise your money for Relay? Here are 10 easy ways to get started...
1. Get started right.
Hold a team meeting and set a goal that will challenge your team.
2. Lead by example.
Ask team members to donate $20 each, and don’t forget to ask for online contributions, too.
3. Cast the net wide.
Have team members ask for contributions from everyone they meet for one month.
4. Join forces.
Gather a few teams together and hold a multi-team fundraiser like a huge garage sale or dinner/auction.
5. Cook up a cure.
Cook lunch for your coworkers in exchange for donations to your team.
6. Put the fun in fundraising.
Have everyone on your team host their own bake sale, book fair, or scrapbooking night to raise funds for your team.
7. Ask for help.
Service clubs, churches, and other social groups can host fundraising events to support your team.
8. Reading. Writing. Arithmetic...Relay!
Have everyone on your team ask their kids’ schools to host a fundraiser.
9. Stock up on stamps.
Ask team members to write personal letters to friends, family and colleagues asking for contributions to your team.
10. Bring it to the track.
Host a fundraiser at your campsite on the day of the Relay - a chili cook-off, sell baked goods, handmade items, or some other sales!
