How Can Employees and Retirees Help Fight Cancer?
By forming Relay For Life teams at the local level, by volunteering their time to help at the event, and/or by participating in fund-raising activities to support the American Cancer Society.

Where Does the Money Go?
The American Cancer Society provides funding for a wide range of services including research, education and treatment counseling for cancer patients, their families and medical professionals around the globe.

How Do I Get Involved?

Sign Up Today! Even if your Relay isn't until June or July, get started now. But before you get started, print this instruction page so you will have it handy when you register.

To start a team or join an existing Dow team to participate in your local Relay For Life Event, follow these simple instructions:

1. Click "Find a Relay Near You" at the top of this page.
2. Enter your zip code and click "Search"
3. Find the Relay event for which you wish to register - click"Event Website" below the name of the event, and the Relay's information page will appear.
4. Click the "Sign Up" button.

If you are the Team Captain registering a new team, follow these steps:

1. Click on “Start a New Team” and enter your team name. Please incorporate "Dow" into your team name to make it easier to identify as part of The Dow Chemical Company Corporate Team Program.
2. For Team Company/Organization, select Dow Chemical from the drop down menu.
3.  Team Fundraising Goal is optional; you may enter this later.
4. Click Next Step.
5. Under "Select a Participation Type" select either "Paying/Registering by Credit Card" or "Paying/Registering by Check or Cash." DO NOT select "National Corporate Team Program"; company financial sponsorship will be determined at the site level.
6. Complete the remainder of the registration process.
7. Once you have registered your team, e-mail me at LSosebee@dow.com and give me your team name, team captain name, and the address where you would like your co-branded (Relay For Life / Dow) banner delivered. 

Even if your Relay is several months away, please register as early as possible and receive your co-branded banner to display at your fundraising events as well as your Relay.

Remember: Even if your team has previously participated in Relay For Life, you must re-register your team each year.

Once you have registered your team, you will have a team RFL website that you may customize for your team.  You may use this website to invite others to join your team, as well as to raise contributions for your team and track team fundraising performance.

OR...

 If you wish to join an existing Dow team, follow these steps:

1. Click on "Join a Team"
2. Fill in the team name, if known.  If you are looking for any Dow team registered for that event, enter "Dow Chemical" in the "Team Company/Organization" window.
3. Click "Search for a Team" -  This will show you a list of teams meeting your criteria.
4. Click on the team name.  This will take you to the team's website.  Click on "Join Our Team" and complete the registration process.
5. Under "Select a Participation Type"  DO NOT select "National Corporate Team Program"; company financial sponsorship will be determined at the site level.

Once you have joined a team, you will have an individual RFL website that you may customize for yourself.  You may use this website to solicit contributions by e-mail, and can keep track of responses and update your site with other contributions that you receive.

If you wish to contribute to a Dow team or individual, follow these steps:

1. Once you have found an event's website, click on "Donate" - then search either by participant name or team name.
2. Click on the individual/team name to be directed to their website. 
3. Click on "Donate" to contribute a dollar amount, or click on "Luminaria" to purchase a luminaria to honor, remember, or support someone affected by cancer.
