Relay For Life is a fun, overnight event for everyone. It can be a bonding, team-building experience for your co-workers, family and friends, so start or join a team today! Together, we can make a difference.

 Please use registration code "Walgreens"

Sign Up Today! Even if your Relay isn't until June or July, get started now. But before you get started, print this instruction page so you will have it handy when you register.

Registration instructions

  • Click Register Now for a Relay Near You at the bottom of this page, and then look for the Find Relays Near Me box.
  • Enter your zip code and click Go.
  • Click the Relay event for which you want to register - the Relay's information page will appear.
  • Click the Sign Up button.
  • Read the Waiver/Agreement and then click I Agree.
  • Click Join a Team to participate on an existing team for the Relay event.
Important: If you are going to be the team captain of a new team, click Start a Team instead and fill out the information form.
  • On the Join a Team page, select Walgreens from the drop down list. Then click Select to see all of the Walgreens teams. Your team name should always begin with "Walgreens" (example: "Walgreens Cincinnati North").
  • Click Join Team and then complete the registration form with your personal information. In the Fees section, be sure to select any option that says No Fee or Pay Later. The American Cancer Society has waived the setup fee for Walgreens teams! Also, remember your user name and password, as you will need it in the future.

Note: If you want to use your store's email address instead of your own personal address, make sure you use this format: str.00123@store.walgreens.com (Replace 00123 with your 5-digit store number).

Other Helpful Information

You can access this website from your home:

From your home computer, go to www.events.cancer.org/RFLWalgreens

  • You can also access this website from from Walgreens. Go to StoreNet and click Policy and Procedure --> American Cancer Society Relay for Life. We appreciate your participation and encourage you and your team members to sign up on-line but please let your managers know of your involvement. They can better support your efforts during work hours and outside of work if made aware of your community involvement.

Next steps if you are a Team Captain:

  • Order your Walgreen Team T-Shirts: StoreNet --> Sell Tab --> Promotional Programs --> Way To Well HUB --> FAQ’s --> Community Event T-shirt Quickform
  • Have a team meeting. Do this a few months before your event to Discuss Fundraising, Recruiting and your To Do list.
  • To order an 8' x 3' Walgreens banner, login to StoreNet and click the "Order" tab. From there, click on Sign Catalog. The item number you are looking for is SKU# 09PD0102. NOTE: This banner is a red Walgreens banner.

To Do List for a Successful and Fun Relay:

  • The team captain is responsible for attending (or assigning a team member to attend) local relay meetings in your area. This is a great opportunity to gain information to share with your team about the specifics of your local Relay For Life event.
  • Assign team members to specific tasks. Spread the work around so that one person doesn't do it all.
  • Recruit team members...the more the merrier! Don't be shy...ask your co-workers, family and friends to join your Walgreen team.
  • Promote Walgreens: Please remember you and your team represent Walgreens. Ask your Store Manager about setting up a table with Walgreen pharmacy brochures, Photo coupons, Giveaways, etc.
  • Food: Some local Relay events provide food for the walkers or sell food as a fundraiser at the event. It's also fun to pack a picnic and ask each of your team members to bring a dish to share.
  • Chairs: Please be sure your team members each bring their own lawn chair (and sleeping bag if they would like).
  • Tent: Usually each team brings a tent for their team members to rest in throughout the night.
  • Decorations: Some teams decorate their tent site. Check with your local Relay to see if they have designated a theme for their event.
  • Entertainment: Most Relays have a host of fun things to do. However, bring cards or small lawn games to entertain your team when they are on a break from walking on the track.

Ways to raise funds for the American Cancer Society:

  • Talk to your coworkers, family and friends and ask them to join your team. Please make sure everyone signs up on this website (www.events.cancer.org/RFLWalgreens). You can send them a pre-written e-mail via the site to let them know of your involvement. It is fast, easy and convenient for everyone involved!
  • In addition to asking your family and friends for donations, consider planning a fundraiser to raise money for your team. Some of our most successful fundraisers last year were jeans day, bake sales, selling crafts, Hot Dog Sales, and Raffles. Use your imagination but please remember that we cannot engage our customers in fundraising efforts. They already contribute through our annual in-store scannable campaigns.
  • Please be sure to get approval from your store manager and district manager before conducting any fundraising activities.
Remember: All fundraising is to be done off the clock and away from the registers. Also, keep in mind that the American Cancer Society Suns and Moons cannot be sold in our stores.
  • Teams usually consist of 10-15 participants. Each participant is asked to raise as much money as they can in donations to the American Cancer Society.

Don't Forget to Have Fun!

  • Organizing your team can feel overwhelming at times. Don't forget to work as a team and delegate responsibilities. Everyone has talents and skills to share. If you need additional help or support, please contact your local Relay For Life event chairman.
  • Don't forget that Fighting Cancer is a team effort. The strength of people coming together for a common cause is greater than the strength of one.

Record and Share Your Memories!

You can upload and share photos from your Relay for Life event! Click on "Upload YOUR Photo" towards the top of this page.  If you choose to share your photos on this website, you should be aware that these photos are viewable to the public.  By posting photos to the Walgreen Relay For Life Photo Album you agree that these photos may be used in future Walgreen publications.
