FIGHT BACK THROUGH RESEARCH! About every two-and-half minutes, someone will be told they have cancer. And current odds are that one in three people will be diagnosed with cancer during their lifetime. These are statistics that we can and will change. THIS YEAR ONLY, you have the unique opportunity to participate first-hand in a landmark new study, the Cancer Prevention Study-3 (CPS-3). You can enroll and participate in CPS-3 at the Relay For Life of GLMV on Saturday, May 30. The American Cancer Society will be enrolling people into CPS-3, a long-term study that will help researchers better identify the lifestyle, environmental, and genetic factors that cause or prevent cancer. This year marks the beginning of our celebration of 25 years of Relay For Life®. More than 3.5 million people across the country will come to a Relay event to celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against a disease that takes too much from too many families.
