I Can Cope

Get informed and receive support to better cope with your cancer experience. Join other patients and caregivers throughout California through the American Cancer Society's I Can Cope telephone classes.

What is I Can Cope?
- Free, interactive, educational support classes facilitated by medical professionals
- Offered each month over the telephone
- Share experiences with other cancer patients and caregivers
- Get answers to your questions
- Learn skills to better manage your cancer experience on a variety of cancer-related topics

Who can attend?
I Can Cope is exclusively for adult patients and caregivers.  Each telephone class provides a safe, confidential environment to receive support as well as support others by sharing your questions, thoughts and experiences.

How do I attend?
I Can Cope classes are offered over the phone (teleconference).  This means that there’s no travel required, and you can participate from the comfort and privacy of your own home or office!

How do I register?
For more information about I Can Cope or to register for an upcoming telephone class, call the American Cancer Society toll-free at 1-800-227-2345.  Once you register, materials and dial-in information will be sent to your personal email address for your use during the telephone class.

How can I receive additional support?
Free Information and Support Services: Call 1-800-227-2345 or visit http://www.cancer.org/ for support and information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

I Can Cope Online Classes: Learn important facts and practical tips about cancer and related issues through self-guided modules that include video, audio clips, as well as links to additional information.

Cancer Survivor’s Network: An online interactive support community for patients, caregivers and survivors.

New Connections: A free e-newsletter for those touched by cancer.

Circle Of Sharing (NEW): Get personalized information about cancer, and share that information with family and friends. Create a Circle of Sharing for yourself, or create one on behalf of someone you're caring for.

Relay For Life: Celebrate survivorship and receive support by attending the Survivor's lap at your local Relay For Life event.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer: Join your community to celebrate breast cancer survivors, educate women about early detection and prevention, and raise money to fund lifesaving research and to support programs.
