El Paso County/Colorado Springs Relay For Life
June 14-20, 2009

Relay brings people together from all walks of life with the common goal of eliminating cancer. No matter who you are, there’s a place for you at Relay. Join us today! 

Each year, across the nation, one event brings together entire communities to take part in the fight against cancer. That event is the American Cancer Society Relay For LifeŽ.

Opening ceremonies for Relay Week are Sunday, June 14, at Security Service Field as the Sky Sox host the Las Vegas 51s. The week will be filled with activities, including a city-wide dinner to honor cancer survivors on Monday, June 15, all leading up to three Relay For Life events on Friday, June 19. For more information pick one of the Relays below. You can also sign up as a walker or team, to volunteer or to participate as a cancer survivor.

Sunday, June 14: Relay For Life Week opens at Security Service Field. SkySox host the Las Vegas 51s at 1 p.m. Come early for the opening ceremonies. The SkySox will be wearing official Relay For Life purple jerseys to be auctioned off after the game. Call 630-4982 for tickets, $8.

Monday, June 15: The annual Relay For Life Week city-wide Cancer Survivors Dinner is at 5:30 p.m., in the Theater Room at New Life Church (11025 Voyager Parkway.) Please RSVP by Monday, June 1, by calling the American Cancer Society office in Colorado Springs, 630-4982, ask for Hannah.

Wednesday, June 17: Nosh (121 S. Tejon) hosts a wine tasting to benefit Relay For Life from 5:30 to 8 p.m. $25 dollars. 40 different wines. Call 635-6674, ext.0

Thurs day, June 18, Take A Bite Out of Cancer as Dutch Bros Coffee will give all its proceeds to Relay For Life from these three locations: 301 E Colorado Ave., 2802 W. Colorado, 1802 E Platte
Also on Thursday, Front Range Barbeque (2330 W. Colorado Ave.) will give a portion of its proceeds to Relay For Life.
