How to Recruit Terrific Team Members

Get Excited- Your enthusiasm is contagious!

Include everyone- Think of everyone you know as a potential team member. Relay is a non-competitive walk; anyone can be part of this great community experience.

Ask Family & Friends- Expand your team roster by including spouses and other family members. Other potential walkers can be found at your place of worship, doctor’s office, neighborhood etc.

Recruit your co-workers- Arrange an employee presentation at a work meeting or lunch.  Tell your co-workers what Relay For Life is all about. Try to set up a challenge between departments. Ask your company to sponsor your team (or pay the reg fee).

Ok, got my team, what's next?

Pay Tribute - You can dedicate your team to a loved one lost, someone you know currently dealing with cancer, or a cancer survivor.

Set fundraising goals - Start with each participant setting a personal fundraising goal of at least $100, and then set a team goal.

Encourage team members to meet their goals by being in constant communication with them. Remember, $100 is the minimum to get your Relay For Life T-shirt!

Happy Birthday America...Happy Birthday Relay!

July 4th is just around the corner; a time for family, friends, fireworks, and fun. Why not celebrate 25 years of Relay as part of the fun and fundraise at the same time? Consider having a community Luminaria ceremony in a local park following the community firework festivities. This ceremony can be a nice way to share Relay with your community and encourage everyone to get involved.
