May 22, 2013, marks the American Cancer Society's 100th birthday. As the official sponsor of birthdays, we believe this year provides a unique opportunity for our organization to celebrate our lifesaving progress and demonstrate that cancer's time is up.

Join us on the eve of our birthday, May 21 and light a luminaria to show your commitment to helping us finish the fight. Our goal is to light up the world with our passion to end this disease by creating a powerful visual in your community and communities all over the world. Your luminaria bag for this special occasion can be made from a bag you have at your home, purchased from your local grocery store or a special bag made from materials you already own.

We would also like to announce, in honor of our 100th birthday, our Finish the Fight Email Challenge. We know that silence won't finish the fight- ACTION WILL. In honor of our 100th Birthday on May 22, we'd like to invite you to join the Finish the Fight 100 Email Challenge- and help make this cancer's last century.

Between now and our 100th Birthday (May 22), we CHALLENGE you to make some noise and send 100 emails from your Relay Participant Center via your Relay For Life web page. If you do, you will be entered into a drawing for a FABULOUS Relay prize!!!

 Sound hard? Check out these tips to get you started! Keep in mind that you can write one email but send to multiple people. For example if you send one email to 20 people, it counts as 20 emails sent! Below is a sample of how quickly emails can add up.

Let your passion light the world!

• Send 1 email to 35 of your contacts sharing your reason to Relay and asking for their support in the upcoming event (this equals 35 emails)  
• Send 1 email to 10 people asking them to join your team or attend the upcoming Relay (this equals 10 emails)
• Send 1 reminder email to those that did not respond from your first email asking for their support (this could be 18 emails)
• Send a personalized thank you email to everyone that donates to you for Relay (35 emails)
• Send 1 email to 2 survivors you know asking them to attend the upcoming Relay (2 emails)
